It - Tra le escursioni più belle che rimarranno per sempre nei nostri ricordi c'è stata sicuramente la "Sharks and sting rays feeding" excursion, ovvero dar da mangiare agli squali ed alle razze.
Da Royal Island, partiti dal resort con lo staff dell'isola ci siam diretti verso un'isoletta artificiale a poche miglia, dove, grazie alla spiegazione della guida su quelli che sarebbero stati gli animali acquatici che avremo visto ed alla mano esperta di un componente dello staff che lanciava pezzi di tonno fresco in acqua, ecco accingersi davanti a noi un banco di particolarissimi squali del reef ed a seguire dei particolarissimi animali acquatici mai visti prima d'ora: le razze.
No ragazzi, tranquilli, gli squali non erano pericolosi anzi, sono denominati alle Maldive "lazy sharks" ovvero "squali pigri" proprio per il loro carattere mansueto.
Questo tipo di squali "reef sharks" (squali del reef) dal colore marroncino e dalla pelle ruvida eran circondati a loro volta da particolarissime razze che con la loro forma curiosa a "ventosa" facevan fatica a prendere da mangiare a causa dell'apertura boccale che è situata nella zona inferiore del corpo. Fate attenzione alla coda delle razze, hanno un pungiglione che a volte può essere anche letale, erano più pericolose loro degli squali, pensate un pò!
Royal Island è ricca di numerose e varie escursioni ma sicuramente questa che abbiamo scelto rimarrà sempre nei nostri occhi, nelle nostre menti e nel nostro cuore grazie alla fauna maldiviana unica nel suo genere.

Guys, don't worry, sharks were not dangerous indeed they are named in the Maldives "lazy sharks" because of their docile nature.
This type of reef sharks with a light brown color and rough skin were surrounded in turn by very special races with their curious "flat"shape, it was so hard to get food because of their mouth which it is located in the lower area of the body.
Pay attention to the tail of the races, have a stinger that sometimes can even be fatal.
Royal Island is rich in numerous and various excursions but surely this that we have chosen will remain forever in our eyes, in our minds and in our hearts thanks to the unique Maldivian fauna.
